Round Duct Sizing
4" Duct: Bathroom exhaust fans and small range hoods — handles up to 100 CFM.
6" Duct: Standard residential supply runs and returns — the most common size for bedrooms and living areas.
8" Duct: Larger supply trunks and high-CFM applications — used for main trunk lines and larger rooms.
Rectangular Duct & Register Boots
Register boots transition round duct to rectangular floor or wall openings. Match boot size to register size for proper airflow.
Common sizes: 4x10, 4x12, and 6x10 are standard residential register boot dimensions.
Tip: Always measure your existing register opening before purchasing — Imperial boots are sized to match standard register cutouts.
