How to Choose the Right Door Closer
Closer Size by Door Width
Size 1-2: Interior doors up to 30" wide and lightweight applications. Ideal for interior office doors and light-traffic areas.
Size 3-4: Standard commercial doors 36" to 42" wide. The most common size for offices, retail, and public buildings.
Size 5-6: Heavy or oversized doors, exterior entries, and high-wind environments requiring maximum closing force.
Mounting Options
Regular Arm (Pull Side): Standard mounting with the closer body on the pull side of the door. Most common installation for interior doors.
Top Jamb: Closer body mounts on the frame header. Used when push-side mounting is required without a parallel arm.
Parallel Arm: Low-profile mounting on the push side. Preferred for storefront and ADA applications where arm projection must be minimized.
