170+ Years of American Craftsmanship
In 1851, Adam Foss traveled with a crate of hog bristles purchased at an unclaimed freight auction and visited his brother in Wooster, Ohio. They attached the bristles to wood handles, made paintbrushes, and sold them door-to-door throughout the state. That humble beginning launched what became the oldest independent manufacturer of paint applicators in the United States.

How to Choose the Right Wooster Brush
Brush Types by Filament
Chinex FTP: Wooster's proprietary filament handles all paint types and delivers the smoothest finish with excellent control.
Nylon/Polyester Blend: The workhorse filament for latex and acrylic paints. Maintains stiffness and shape in water-based coatings.
White China Bristle: Natural bristle for oil-based paints, stains, and varnishes. Provides the finest finish on trim and cabinetry.
Brush Shapes & Sizes
Angle Sash (Wooster invented it in 1937): The most versatile shape for cutting in around trim, ceilings, and corners.
Flat Sash: Ideal for broad, flat surfaces like doors, panels, and table tops where maximum coverage is needed.
Shortcut: Wooster's ergonomic handle lets you paint longer with less fatigue — great for tight spaces and detail work.
